What Luke says

These are some of the things that Luke has said that have just cracked us up!

1. And it came to pass Nephi had a sword.  And he built a boat!
2. Aaahhh! I got it on my Elmo! (Elbow)
3. Look Mom we forgot this Unga Turtle. (Ninja Turtle)
4. If you have an itch you stick your hands down your pants and you scratchy, scratchy your bottom.
5. Logan is crying Luke responds with this.  "Mom I think Logan needs a pirate ship!"
6. Me: Luke do you smell that?
    Luke: Yeah.
    M: It smells like stinky feet!
    L: No mom I think that is my bottom.
7. Dear Heavenly Father,
          Thankful for this food.  Bless it.  And we are going to watch a movie Duck Tales, "Whoo-Hoo,
          Whoo-Hoo."  In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Windmills

Yesterday I had to travel down to Carlsbad/San Diego area.  I knew it was going to be a long trip so I packed a lunch and  loaded the boys of course and headed down. As we were getting gas off the Palomar airport exit Luke looks over and sees this windmill.  He says this, "Hey Mom what is that?"  "A windmill!"  "Oh.  We need to go hit balls in that!"  To myself thinking balls?  Then it hits me!  MINIATURE GOLF.  "Oh yeah Luke you could but not that one it is too big!"  "Oh, okay!" I love that boy.

Ice Skating

 

The Great Park was offering free ice skating for the month of February and took them up on their offer.  The ice skating rink is located in an old airplane hanger, where they put up the ice rink just for the winter season.  We invited our friends the Cheney's to come along. Luke did exceptionally well and wants to go again.  He asks everyday when we are going and when I am going to get him skates!  It was a good trip and can't wait till next year to go again, maybe next Logan can join us!

3 Bandaids!

2 Actually!  Luke comes up to me yesterday and says "Mom I got 3 bandaids all by myself!  I had some boo-boos and made them better!"  I had to admire his handy work.  He opened them and fixed them around his fingers.  I'll need to work on his counting though.  What a big boy!

Daddy's Day Off

David, my wonderful hubby has been "working" aka studying so hard that he decided that he wanted to take a well deserved day off with the fam!  So on Friday morning, we packed out rain boots, buckets & shovels and headed down to the creek again. Luke of course wanted to walk right in the middle of the creek so we kind of let him.  Lets just say that we emptied at least 3 cups of water out of his shoes.  We stayed well over and hour and then headed back.  The rest of the day is kind of a blur running errands and just relaxing.  It went way too fast, I hope Dave takes another day off soon!

Beach Day in February

How I love Southern California so unpredictable, 70+ degree weather in February!  It has been so beautiful that I can not resist taking the kids out.  I wanted to go to Dland but saw the times on the calendar were 8a-11p and I knew it was going to be crowded.  So we opted to invite Rach of course and her crew to the beach!  We played in the sand and that was supposed to be it, but kids just can't seem to stay out of the water so some of them were stripped down to their underwear.  I stayed longer than I had planned because we had such a great time.  Oh. . . I long for the summer days to come!

100th Post!

I thought that I would do something really huge for my 100th post but time is always a problem!  So o-well our 100th post falls on the topic Presidents Day.  My parents both had the day off and well. .  Dave of course did not.  (My poor man had school and spent the holiday in the school library.  Such a great man, I love him to death!)  So we decided to make a morning trip down to the beach and eat breakfast and just enjoy the morning!  We got McDonalds of course and ate it on the sand.  We just let the kids play in the sand and water.  Unfortunately we did sit next to 2 dead sand pipers.  It was very sad but that is the circle of life.  We also saw lots of trains which Luke loved, Logan not so much he was scared of the horn!  Took some pictures of the beach for Trent, he misses the west coast.  It was very relaxing and great way to spend a holiday.  Great idea Mom and Dad!

The Creek

It has been raining so much here that the creek actually has water in it!  I took the boys down one afternoon and let them play in it.  Luke and I had rubber boots and I know I had some in Logan's size but for some reason couldn't find them.  So he had to settle for just regular shoes.  He was bummed because Luke could play in the water and he had to stay on the sandbar, sorry bud maybe next time!  Luke of course had to gather his favorite thing in the whole wide world STICKS!  We threw some rocks and explored, we could have stayed longer but I had to get Logan to a doctor appt.  It was a beautiful, clear day I can't wait till next time!

Pretend City

First of all I want to thank Carrie for inviting us to go, it was super fun and Luke still is asking if we are going to the museum 5 days later!

My wonderful friend Carrie works for COX Communications and was invited by Pretend City to see their new program Head to Toe.  So she invited Rach and I along to go for FREE!  I'm always up for free and I have been dying to go and take the kiddies!  So we went and it was amazing so fun and I love how there really are no rules, they want the kids to experience how everything correlates together.  They had everything. . . grocery store, library, dispatch center, fire house, police station, marina, beach, farm, park, construction zone, streets with cars, stage with lights and sound.  I mean the list goes on it was so cool that even Dave wants to go and check it out.  I loved this place and can't wait to go back and take them again!

Valentines Extravaganza

So first I want to wish everyone a  belated Valentines Day.  Even though I really don't think that it is a real holiday it is a good reminder to show the ones that you love that you care!  

 Anyway our valentines week started off with making cookies.  We were supposed to send them to Trent on his mission but soon realized that they were not going to make it in time so we ate them.  Super yummy!  

Thursday Luke had his class valentine party.  Like I mentioned early I don't think that it is a real holiday just one made up by Hallmark so . . .  I didn't want to buy valentines due to limited budget and I know that they just get thrown in the trash.  I know ba-humbug so Luke and I made our own and put them on his goodie bags filled with candy bracelets and a sucker!  You know the kids only care about the candy anyway!  (I should have put a tooth brush instead. All the parents gave cookies & candy!)  

On Saturday, Dave wanted to treat the whole family to a Pre-Valentines Family date, he suggested that we have dinner at IN-N-OUT and then I thought that it would be fun to go Ice Skating and ride the Big Orange Balloon.  We ate dinner and then headed over to find out that everyone else thought just like we did and the ice skating and the balloon rides were sold out.  Luke was soooo disappointed that we postponed until this weekend.  This time we are going down early to reserve tickets!  The kids fell asleep so Dave and I decided to just enjoy this time together and we walked the Irvine spectrum.  It was a fun evening.  I love to do things with our family!

Logan

I can't believe how fast this little guy is growing.  Remember how I posted earlier about my 1% Vent?  Well a couple of months ago we decided to make Logan's weight issue a family affair and started praying about it in family prayer.  Well I can honestly say that within a day his eating habits improved and he is gaining ounces by the week.  He is getting taller, his feet are growing, he is starting to fit in clothes that are appropriate for his age, he is running, more teeth are coming in.  Overall he is doing fantastic and acting more and more like a toddler.  I love this little guy!

Botch Job

On Monday I painstakingly took the time to cut all the boys hair it took me almost an hour to do all 3!  The next day I was getting dressed in my bedroom and Logan was in the bath.  Luke was in there too rummaging around in the cabinet under the sink.  It got quiet all the sudden and saw that Luke had gotten the hair cutting bag and had all the guards to the clippers.  I told him to put them back and he said okay and proceeded to put them back.  The next thing I noticed was the door shut to the bathroom I yelled at Luke to open it please and he said okay and it remained closed, I yelled again for him to open it and I started to count. Luke opened it and scampered to his bedroom.  I knew something was up.  Sure enough I walk into the bathroom and there was Logan with a botch job of a haircut from Luke.  I found the hair on the floor and also hidden in my diffuser.  I can honestly say Luke has no talent to become a future barber.

Logan Did It!

As a mom you wait for the day that your child figures out how to take of his diaper.  (Or if your like my friend Brooke she just always keeps onesies on so they don't have that opportunity!  Smart idea Brooke I think that I might have to do that.)  So here is Logan in all his manly glory!  It is appropiate to view I
