Luke Quote!

Luke: Dad can I be excused to go to the bathroom?
David: Sure.
Luke: I have to go One Hundred Thousand Twenty.  That means poo-poo.

Big Brothers

Carson was having a hard time in the car so Luke held his hand to calm him down and both fell asleep.

Logan takes his big brother role very serioulsy.  

His job is to hold the baby when I need to wash my hands after I change a dipaer!

First Day of School

Luke had his first day of school on Wednesday. He was so excited to use his Batman backpack Nana got him and his Scooby-Doo lunch box.

Luke this year is going to a charter school called Community Roots Academy this year in Aliso Viejo.

The first day he said was awesome! The second day he didn't realize he had to go everyday.

Luke doesn't like his teacher give him a few weeks and I know he will love his teacher Mrs Morton.

Happy Birthday Luke Part II

I know I already posted 2 entries on Lukie's bday but as you know we at the Didlake household seem to carry out birthdays for almost a whole week.  So with that said. . .

On Luke's actually birthday I had planned a star wars themed breakfast because that is what he told me he wanted.  We started off the day with a hearty breakfast complete with Darth Vader and Stormtrooper french toast, Yoda eggs and bacon.

The other thing he wanted was  just to play with his friends so the day before I emailed a bunch of his friends and invited them to the park to play and just have cupcakes.

We had a family dinner Sunday with extended family and of course he got his Star Wars cake with Darth Vader stenciled in powdered suger.  Of course I, Mom could not resisit to put trick candles on the cake.

Field Trip to the farm

Luke's class had a field trip to the farm last week. We drove to the OC fair grounds to see the centennial farm. I love this farm! Partly because it is fairly clean. If I ever lived on a working farm it would hopefully look like this. My personal favorite are all the gardens. They are just gorgeous. They of course loved all the animals, especially the oxen. Whoa! Huge is all we have to say. I'm glad I wasn't a pioneer crossing the plains. It was beautiful weather and a very fun afternoon. Can't wait to to again next year with Logan.

Breathing Treatments

We have been sick, sick, sick! It started with Dave last weekend with another ear infection and cold. I thought the boys and I were free and clear but Monday morning I was down, then on Tuesday it hit Luke and Logan with fevers at midnight. We have been on vitamin c, tylenol & breathing treatments to help this cold run its course. I hope it is over soon. I am so over being sick.

Resourceful

Boys can be so resourceful when it comes making a gun or sword.  For instance Luke found the homemade popsicle molds and uses them as a sheath and dagger.  Who says you have to buy toys?

Baa, Baa Black Sheep

Luke learned a new song in school last week it goes something like this.

Baa, Baa black sheep have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir three bags full.
One for my master and one for my cream (dame),
One for the little boys who lives down the drain (lane).

Yes sir, yes sir three bags full.

I love this kid.

Tummy Talk!

We were sitting in Sacrament meeting when Luke's tummy started to rumble.  This is how our conversation went:

Luke: Mom, did you here that?
Me: No, what was it?
Luke: My tummy, it was talking.
Me: Oh really what did your tummy say?
Luke:  AARGGHH! I'm a pirate!


I was giggling so hard, I thought it was so funny.

Ming-Ming

Right now the boys really like Wonder Pets!  

They can both tell you all the characters names and sing the song.  Luke needed some new underwear and he picked out Wonder Pets,  Logan decided that he liked them too!  So one day he wore them like this and wouldn't let me take them off.  He kept pointing to Ming-Ming the duck.  They are so cute!

Yesterday I had the boys pictures taken down at the San Juan Train Station.  They turned out so cute!  I just had to share check them out:

Picnic Dinner

This evening when it got time to eat dinner Luke decided that he needed to have a picnic.  It being left over night we decided that it would be fun.  So we laid out a couple of blankets and enjoyed our gourmet meal of grilled cheese sandwiches and fruit salad.

Homemade Kite

All Luke has been talking about is flying a kite.  When David was home for week after finals he took it upon himself to make one for Luke.  He looked up some directions on the internet and gathered the materials and set to work.  We later went to the park and to try it out.  Unfortunately it didn't work as well as we had hoped but Luke and Logan had a blast running with the kite flying behind them!

Easter Recap

Have you noticed a trend lately?  I have been trying to catch up on all the things that we did in April.  Anyway Easter was a blur with General Conference, egg decorating and making our way down to Vista to have an Easter Luncheon with Great Mema and Great Papa.  All in all it was fun and somewhat relaxing having David home!
